The Augsburg region is one of the international centres of science, research and development for lightweight construction and fibre composites. We'll provide you with visits to the Fraunhofer Institute for foundry, composite and processing technology (IGCV), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the University of Applied Sciences, the University of Augsburg and the ITA Süd.

The new fibre composite and light-weight construction trade fair Experience Composites – powered by JEC will take place in Augsburg from 21-23 September 2016 for the first time. The creators of the event, Messe Augsburg, the JEC Group and Carbon Composites e.V. are working together towards creating a trail-blazing event for the growing composites market. The offer has already been greatly welcomed, according to organisers. A range of renowned companies, both domestic and from abroad, have already declared their intention to attend. The event will showcase composites companies and applications in two halls with around 10,000 m2 and will involve strong exhibitors positioned according to application. With the aim of setting composites in scene as the material of the future, a new multiple-location event format has been developed especially for Experience Composites. Fibre composite materials are to be demonstrated and detailed from a variety of angles. The further development of this high-growth sector and the experience orientation are thus to be emphasised. Experience Composites is designed to generate new impulses for fibre composite materials as well as associated value-added processes.
